When I attended SBCC in 1993 – a was the SBCC SFAI Award Winner – I declined because I wanted to go SAIC.
At SBCC I had the privilege to study with Bonnie Blau, Libby Smith, Ken Nack, and others.

Acrylic on Wood
When I attended SAIC in the 90’s I took a great class taught by Frank Pietek called materials and techniques. I did this study of Peter Paul Rubens’s paintings in that class. I took pieces of the painting and studied his technique. The Rubens painting hung at the Chicago museum of art which is attached to SAIC. BTW – I built this wood frame from scratch by hand because I worked for one semester in the wood shop at SAIC. I also had the privilege to study with Susanna Coffey, Dan Gustin , and others.
